A Gavel is Coming!

I have seen a gavel coming and striking the so called "mega-church". Up until today I did not fully understand why or how but I believe I have seen the beginnings of what is to come.

Evangelical Leaders Join Global Warming Initiative

Despite opposition from some of their colleagues, 86 evangelical Christian leaders have decided to back a major initiative to fight global warming, saying "millions of people could die in this century because of climate change, most of them our poorest global neighbors."

Among signers of the statement, which will be released in Washington on Wednesday, are the presidents of 39 evangelical colleges, leaders of aid groups and churches, like the Salvation Army, and pastors of megachurches, including Rick Warren, author of the best seller "The Purpose-Driven Life."

"For most of us, until recently this has not been treated as a pressing issue or major priority," the statement said. "Indeed, many of us have required considerable convincing before becoming persuaded that climate change is a real problem and that it ought to matter to us as Christians. But now we have seen and heard enough."

I do believe that we, as Christians, are responsible to be good stewards of all that the Father has given us, including this globe which we call earth. However, I fear for those groups and believers led by men who would embrace the false science and the lie of "global warming".

My fear is that if these leaders can be so easily swayed by science as faulty as the Theory of Evolution, how easily can they be misled into false teaching and false doctrine?

Paul wrote this.

It was he (Jesus) who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.
Eph. 4:11-14 NIV

These men were given to the Body of Christ to equip the saints so that they would not be tossed about by every wind of teaching and the deceitful scheming of men.

These so-called leaders who have fallen for this lie of "global warming" are failing in their duty to protect and equip those in their charge. As Paul wrote to the Christians in Galatia,

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Gal 6:7-8 NIV

Should these men continue, unrepentant, down this path, the fruits of their sowing shall become evident and the cost will be great to those who have followed them.

I have seen the gavel strike and the church scattered!

Now is the time for the church to be prepared, to prepare herself for the coming of the King.
